About the California Energy Commission's CalSHAPE Program
The California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE) provides funding to upgrade heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) systems in public schools and also to replace noncompliant plumbing fixtures and appliances that fail to meet water efficiency standards.
Project Details
ABS is working with the CEC and the CALSHAPE program to help more than 50 school districts apply for available funding and complete the ventilation and plumbing upgrades.
A large part of ABS’s success was being able to work with various districts outside of the traditional bidding process by referencing GC-4217 and through piggyback agreements developed with other districts.
ABS is responsible for reporting back to CALSHAPE via their database to record all necessary project information and completion data.
ABS regularly meets with CALSHAPE staff for updates and guidance on data input.
